Yes, JMC Painting and Decorating are fully insured with Public Liability Insurance so you can rest assured that you are covered in the unlikely event of an accident while we are on site.
We ask all our customers to remove all valuables and breakables from the work area before we arrive on-site.
We would also ask you move all your furniture to the center of the room if possible. No need for dust sheets, we will cover all furniture and flooring with dust sheets before we begin work.
In the case you are unable to move your furniture on your own, we can assist you with this on the day.
JMC recommend high-quality paint brands such as Dulux, Colourtrend and Farrow and Ball**.
These brands are more expensive than other brands on the market but in our experience, they provide a higher quality finish and last longer than cheaper brands.
However, we are more then happy to use any paint brand that you prefer.
**JMC Painting and Decorating are not affiliated with Dulux, Colourtrend or Farrow and Ball. The advice we provide is based solely on our personal experience in the trade.
No, JMC Painting and Decorating do not offer color advice based on market trends.
Color selection in your home is a very personal choice and we believe that you should choose colors that you like and that you will be happy with for years to come.
JMC always recommend customers purchase their own paint for the job.
This ensures you get the exact brand, color and finish that you desire for your home at an outlet you trust. Buying your own paint is especially important if you plan on getting a color mixed as being in-store is vital to ensure your selected color is as you expect.
Lastly, in the unlikely event of an issue with the paint (for example, frost damage from improper storage at the outlet), you have full anatomy to resolve this issue with your local paint outlet, avoiding any middle-man scenarios.
Yes, JMC Painting and Decorating are happy to provide a quote for commercial premises.
We have experience painting a variety of commercial premises including offices, medical facilities and retail units.
It is true, painting and it's associated preparation can be a dusty job. However, JMC Painting and Decorating take every precaution to ensure that your home is left as clean as it was when we arrived.
We use top-quality dust sheeting to cover all furniture and flooring in our work area to help minimise dust in your home.
Sanding is always the biggest culprit for dust in our line of work so we use top of the range sanding equipment that is connected to a HEPA-filtered vacuum system to minimise dust plumes, keeping dust levels to a minimum.
Yes, JMC Painting and Decorating can remove wallpaper finishes before painting your walls.
We prepare and prime the stripped walls before painting to ensure a high-quality and long-lasting finish.
Over the years, your external plaster may have become discoloured due to the growth of algae, lichen, moss and other organic growths. These growths can cause your paint to discolour, peel and flake off.
Simply painting over these growths with new paint will not solve the problem and may cause your new paint to discolor and flake off prematurely, which can be costly with today's paint prices.
JMC always recommend a fungicidal wash treatment before any external paint is applied to kill off these growths and to ensure that your new paint will last for years to come.
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are chemicals that are released into the air as paint dries. These chemicals can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, and other health problems.
We always recommend using low VOC paints to ensure that you and your family are not exposed to these harmful chemicals, this is especially important if you have young children, pets or family members with respiratory conditions.
VOC paints are becoming less common in the domestic market but are still used in specific applications such as some external specialist paints for metal surfaces for example.
JMC will be happy to advise you on the best paint for your home and family regarding VOCs during any stage of the quotation or painting process.
